Easy tropical drink that’s quick to make in either single serving or a large batch! This Ocean Breeze co*cktail is a delicious mixture of blue curacao, rum and lemonade. Perfectly refreshing on a hot summer day at the lake, pool or a backyard party!
It’s that time to start thinking about what icy cold drinks to serve at all the backyard parties, BBQs, and pool parties this summer, and I have a great one for you to try: an ocean breeze co*cktail!
It’s a refreshing boozy summer drink you can make for a crowd or scale-down and just make for you.
I love blue co*cktails during the summer – they remind me of relaxing days at the lake and BBQs! It’s a perfect sipping drink that is citrusy and the best thing on a hot day.

All About Easy Blue Curacao co*cktail Recipe!
Blue curacao is a type of liqueur that has a citrus flavor, similar to triple sec. The big difference is that it’s blue colored so it’s perfect for making summer drinks that look as refreshing as they are to drink.
For an ocean breeze drink, you combine it with rum and lemonade for a super simple drink. You can make it by the pitcher for parties or I’m also sharing how to make a single drink.
Break out all the pool snacks like chips, salsa, and guacamole and mix up one of these delicious drinks to go with them. You are going to love it!
Ingredients for a Single Drink
- 1ozblue curacao – this is what makes it a blue co*cktail!
- 1ozwhite rum – white is best for this drink, there isn’t a substitute.
- 4ozlemonade
- 1lemon slice
- 3blueberries
- Ice
How to Make It
Fill your glass half way with crushed ice.
Add the blue curacao, rum, and lemonade. Stir to combine.
Garnish the drink with the lemon slice and fresh blueberries!
Make a Pitcher for a Party
I love this drink recipe because it scales up easily to serve a crowd. Here’s what you’ll need to make a batch of ocean breeze co*cktails to serve four. If you want more than that, you can double it again.
- 4ozblue curacao
- 4ozwhite rum
- 16ozlemonade
- 1lemon cut into slices
- ½cupblueberries
- Ice
Place the ingredients in a large pitcher with ice and stir to combine. Pour and enjoy!
FAQs
Can you make it ahead for parties?
You can mix the rum, blue curacao, and lemonade and keep it in the refrigerator. When you are ready to serve the drinks just fill the glasses with ice and add the garnishes.
How do you make a lemon twist to garnish the glasses?
Remove the peel from the lemon and scrape off as much of the white part as you can. The more you scrape off the more flexible the peel will be. Slice the peel into strips and then thread onto toothpicks to garnish the drinks.
What is the difference between a seabreeze, ocean breeze, and bay breeze drink?
A seabreeze has grapefruit, cranberry, and vodka. A bay breeze has pineapple juice instead of grapefruit juice. An ocean breeze is a rum drink with blue curacao and lemonade.
This ocean breeze drink looks like summer in a glass, doesn’t it? It tastes like summer, too! Be sure to add this one to your summer party plans – everyone will love sipping on one!
