This morning at the YFC in-person training, I witnessed a remarkable display of flexibility by a student in her 80s. Despite initial hesitations, her flawless execution of the side fall prompted me to ask her to demonstrate to the class. Acknowledging her superior performance, I confessed that even I couldn't match her. She reacted with disbelief and asked about the difference between previous feedbacks given by previous instructors and mine. I explained my focus on the body's fluidity over isolated movements. As expected, her demonstration provided the class with a better insight into the knee movement while falling safely.

The technology is ready.His is and example of the future of exercise for older adults.It's time to provide better tools for the elderly to learn to fall safely. To protect their active and independent lives.

It's crucial to recognize the effectiveness of the safe fall technique, but what about fall prevention methods? Older adults may not always realize the danger they narrowly avoid when they prevent a fall. During a recent training session, a participant shared how she almost tripped over a rough sidewalk but managed to lift her foot in time to prevent a fall. This incident sparked a debate on whether it was due to the "walking without dragging your feet" technique or another factor.#fallprevention #learntofall #olderadults #seniorfall
