Core Keeper Portal and Waypoints Guide | TechRaptor (2024)

This Core Keeper Portal and Waypoints Guide tells you how Waypoints work, how you can move them, and how you can unlock and craft Portals of your own —as long as you have the necessary resources to build them.

How Waypoints Work inCore Keeper

Waypoints are a new addition inCore Keeper's1.0 update that serve the same function as the pre-1.0 Portals — they allow you to teleport yourself from any one Waypoint to any other Waypoint as long as you've activated it.

A Waypoint is available at the Core right at the start of the game. Several other Waypoints are scattered throughout the world. They are typically located within one screen of a boss's arena.

You must travel to a Waypoint and activate it by interacting with it before you can use it. Once that's done, you can travel from any Waypoint to any other Waypoint or Portal.

All Waypoints (except for the Waypoint at the Core) can be picked up and placed elsewhere. However, you'll need at least a Solarite Pickaxe to pick it up. Once moved, a Waypoint needs 10 minutes to charge up to full power before you can use it. A Waypoint only ever needs to be charged once after it's placed.

How aCore KeeperPortal Works

TheCore KeeperPortal is essentially a Waypoint that you can craft. It can be placed nearly anywhere in the world once you've built it and allowed it to charge up to full power. Portals can be used to travel to Waypoints and vice versa.

Portals inCore Keeperare very expensive items — you could build several sets of tools or armor with the resources that are involved. It's best to spend your resources on tools and armor first before building a Portal unless you've progressed to Galaxite equipment and no longer need Octarine Bars.
